Start / Finish
BEFORE RACE START
Please arrive at the start line on Paul Robeson Place by 6:45 so that you are in place before the start of the race.
Before your arrival all the post-race water, medals and tables will be unloaded onto the sidewalk.
Once the race goes off, please gather all the garbage and clothing left on the start line and take them to Victory Village to garbage cans and lost and found table.
Then you will work with the race production team to pop up tables and set up all the post-race water and medal tables. Water tables will first for the runners, then the medal tables.
RACE FINISH LINE
Please arrive at the start line on Paul Robeson Place by 8 AM. Our course record is 1:08 so it will start hopping as soon as you get there.
Greet finishing runners with water.
Greet finishing runners with medal.
Direct them to Victory Village for post-race refreshments.
Keep crowds from closing in on finish line before and after the finish line.
Keep runners moving through the finish line so they are not injured by next runner sprinting to the finish.
Even as a volunteer, it’s easy to get excited and want to creep up to give them their medal. Give runners space to come to you.
